8-25-08 Arise and Eat

ARISE AND EAT  08-25-08

"Arise and eat' the angel said to the sleepy eyed prophet Elijah.  That was what the prophet needed was angel food cake.  Don't you love the Lord, he could have given broccoli, but rather he gave him cake.  I digress.  Nevertheless the food was what Elijah needed to overcome his discouragement, fear and the journey that was before him.  Elijah was visited by the angels before his forty day fast and Jesus was ministered to by them after His forty day fast.

I sense a demonic attack that has left the priests of God in America frustrated and discouraged.  I am not writing to emphasize the trouble but rather the cure.  Men and women of god rise up wipe the sleep out of your eyes, and eat.  There is enough food for all and is available to all just arise and eat.

7 How precious is your loving-kindness, o God!  Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of your wings.  8  they are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of your house, and you gave them drink from the river of your pleasures.  9 For with you is the fountain of life, in your light we see light.  Psalm 36:7-10 NKJV

It is true that if you hunger and thirst after righteousness you will be filled, but that is only true if in fact you eat.  If you fail to eat and drink that hunger will subside and you will stare.  Hunger that is not heeded is fatal.  Hunger and thirst lets you know that you need but it does not meet that need.  There has to be partaking.

Jesus is the bread of life, the precious manna that comes from heaven, the glorious bread of presence.  He is the bread that has been given to man that we might eat of Him.

And Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life.  He who comes to me shall never hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst."  John 6:35 NKJV

When we eat of Him, there is complete satisfaction, even beyond complete but abundant satisfaction.  He is life to those who believe, and He is also satisfying.  There is no frustration in the soul who is feasting on the abundance of god.  The stomach of the partaker is not growling, rumbling or in pain but abundant satisfaction.

Yet, it is not just food but also drink.  Yes the sparkling waters of life are available to any who will kneel on the rivers edge and drink from the river of His pleasures.  Go ahead and enjoy a refreshing drink of His presence.  It's ok; don't feel guilty of shame for enjoying the abundant satisfaction and the joy of God.  Let your joy be full.  Let your soul delight in Him.  He has a river full of pleasures for you to enjoy.

Many are saying that revival is over and that may be, but I doubt it.  The pure waters of life, the river of His pleasures, the joy of the Lord, the new wine, if you will, does not flow from Pensacola, Toronto, or Lakeland, but rather from the throne of God.  That very same river flows to us and we spring up a well or fountain that flows to others until finally all the nations will see the light in us.

You will show me the path of life, in your presence is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.  John 16:11 NKJV
