CUTTING EDGE CHRISTIANITY
"But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." Matthew 6:33 NKJV
Out in front you can see them slashing through the overgrown thorns, brush, and undergrowth that blocks the paths of life. They are our heroes. The ones we know will get the job done for us all. Pioneer is another word often attached to their name, and they rightly deserve our respect and honor.
However, did you know that God wants us to all be cutting edge believers? I'm not talking about the "slash em" and "gash em" talk most Christians engage in, but rather, He wants us to all be on faiths edge walking through the valley of the shadow of death while rescuing precious souls that have been trapped by the world.
The love doctrine has spoiled the church. I stand corrected it is not the doctrine that has ruined us but the application of it, or more to the point, the lack of application of it. You know the type they call for love and acceptance without accountability or responsibility. They claim to love all with every syrupy word while they ignore the plight of the perishing. They are the type to stand outside the burning building yelling I love you to burning victims. Or maybe they would tell the sick that Jesus is a healer but they themselves will not heal anyone in His name.
To be on the cutting edge you have to have a sword that can cut through the chains of imprisonment, the cares and worries of the world that has surrounded so many like the thorny vines that snake and wind their way around the trees of life choking them with worldly lies. Sometimes you even have to cut the thorns from you own life. My experience is there is a constant enmity between God and the world and I am usually caught in between trying to love the right one but in all honesty find a real need for the things of the world. To this I say we must die daily.
Love and faith does not fear loss or the economic times, they simply dive in to the places that frighten everyone else and cut their way through the cares and worries of this world that the lost might be rescued. They throw caution to the wind and risk it all that some might be saved. They will not reduce their lives to the petty pursuit of worldly possessions but their passion is the populating of heaven.
God wants us to be like him, so much so he has put His very Spirit in us and calls us His children that we might grow up to be like him. Do we dare to walk as Jesus walked? Do we dare begin a journey without planning where we will sleep that night or how we will feed ourselves, or how we will cloth ourselves? I say go for it! Take a step of faith today and do His will. Like the apostle Peter who left the boat to walk on the water you too have to get out of the boat of normal thinking and enter the raging seas to walk where no man had walked. To be on the cutting edge you must get out of the boat. Won't you help us seek and reach the lost regardless the cost.
