Revival, move in
We have witnessed first hand the great revival that Africa is currently experiencing. On any given Sunday throughout sub-Sahara Africa you can see countless people walking to church all dressed up carrying their Bibles. It is one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. Already, what was once known as the Dark Continent is becoming a gleaming beacon of hope to all nations, as millions come to Jesus.
Many question but how many are really getting plugged in? We have no way of knowing; however I can say that untold millions are coming into the kingdom. Church attendance is at its highest and you can expect to see the power of God when you attend. They do not debate as to the need for miracles these are a people who believe God will heal and can't afford to wait for test results. I have seen the lame walk there, the blind see, the deaf hear, the insane healed and delivered, and I have witnessed cancers cured all by the power of God.
You cannot take the supernatural away from an African. They are believers in the power of God and also the power of satan. They do not deny that either is very capable in the power department. Deliverance in the African church is as common as ice in Antarctica. They do not split theological hairs when praying for the oppressed, possessed, or even the hard pressed they just rebuke the devil in the name of Jesus. The results are staggering. It works! The blind see, the deaf hear, the lame walk, the dead are raised and the bound are set free. I always rejoice to see these men of God who do not fear the evil one.
One thing that always strikes me as I talk to them is that they don't even realize they are in revival. They are just doing the work of the King. The African revival began by just a few doing the work of God and it has spread throughout the whole continent in about 200 years.
In contrast, our nation was founded as a Christian nation and before our 200th birthday we had began to teach evolution in our schools, outlawed prayer in school, and legalized abortion. We seem to be heading in the opposite direction because we reject the notion of a real enemy that causes sickness, bondage, and immorality. When the men and women of God gain the anointing (and the nerve to use it) to open prison doors and let hell's captives go free we will experience revival like our African brothers and sisters. I am told that this kind of preaching is not popular on this side of the ocean. The claim is we are not a superstitious people yet every other TV program is about the paranormal. This nation is ripe unto harvest, but we lack the laborers that are willing to get their church clothes dirty doing the work of making disciples.
We need to replace our seminars with intense pray for the hurting. We need to take our hands off the remote control and lay them on the sick. We can ill afford to wait for the move of God any longer. It is time to move into His presence, see the fields and run to them with a new devil busting anointing. It will be war with hell but it already is, only we are not winning because we are not engaging the enemy where he is. Our Lord's name is suffering a reproach as we heap teachers to scratch our ears. They give us more insight but no vision. We are mesmerized by the great teachers that grace our TVs while our churches are dry and stale in need of people who are willing to pay the price in prayer for those suffering. People come to our churches raise their hands and recite the magic words at every invitation but do not get set free.
It is now time we do something. It is now time we rise up and seek and save that which was lost. And if I may say, that we do it regardless the cost!
