![]() Have you heard stories from people returning from mission trips? You know the ones. They built schools and churches, installed roofs, and construct turnpikes to reroute traffic in small villages. Have you thought, "I'd like to help, but I am not really sure how to hold a hammer." YOU ARE IN LUCK!! This mission trip is for you! We are not planning to do anything "handy." (But if you want to build something, we can work that out!) This is a "vision trip." Huruma is going to Kenya in April. There are two objectives for this trip. First, is for you to be blessed to see the miracles, true miracles, that God is performing at the Bethel Children's Centre. I can promise it will be a fresh drink of water to your soul. Second, this is a fact-finding mission. In this particular area, the number of street children who are on their own and trying to fend for themselves, is growing rapidly. The orphanage in Ruiru is at maximum capacity, so taking in additional children is not an option. I am praying that God is calling about three people to go on this trip with me (Wynn.) We need different perspectives and different gifts and insights as we try to figure out the extent of the problem, and try to discern the role God has for us in His plan. These are the qualifications you need: (1) you care about the fate of children; (2) you know the power of prayer; and (3) you have eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart for the nations. Even if you don't feel as though you have those things now, pray in expectation. If you go on this trip, you will return with all 3 qualifications, even if you didn't leave the US with them. Hammer definitely optional.

The Jericho RoadThis is the blog of Huruma International Ministries. Huruma seeks to fulfill our calling to "go and do likewise" as instructed by Jesus in the parable of the Good Samaritan. The lesson of the Good Samaritan is not about achieving spiritual success through our own efforts. No, what we learn is that we are to give mercy, because we have been given mercy. We are all poor and needy. We are all travelers on the Jericho Road Archives
